science & practice 7 AEEDC Dubai 2016 The Istanbul Oral and Dental Health Apparatus and Equipment Exhibition (IDEX) is one of the largest trade fairs in Turkey and of- fers leading companies in the den- tal industry the opportunity to present their products to cus- tomers from all over the world. With 30 years’ experience, CNR Expo will be organising IDEX for the 13th time from 14 to 17 April 2016. The dental equipment import rate is 2.5 times higher than the export rate, amounting to US$50 million (€44 million) per year. The overall den- tal market in Turkey is currently valued at US$170 million (€150 million) and is growing steadily at arateof6–7percentannually.The number of dentists in Turkey has increased significantly within the last five years. In 2014, there were about 25,000 dentists and 38 uni- versities in Turkey had dental fac- ulties.Turkeyisalsoconsideredan emerging market for medical tourism. The best cases submitted will be presented on the first day of the conference. Clinicians up to the age of 40 may submit their case documenta- tion in English via e-mail by 15 Feb- ruary 2016. All submitted cases willbereviewedandpre-approved by the conference scientific com- mittee and the best case presenta- tions will be awarded. The first-prize winner will be in- vited to a course by implant spe- cialist Dr Eric Van Dooren, includ- ing flights and accommodation.
