Although digital volume tomography has to date beenmostlyusedforpreimplantologicalplanningand inreconstructionsurgery, nowotherdentaldisciplines are beginning to appreciate and use the high value of this process — it is in orthodontia, endodontia, dental surgeryaswellasperiodonticsthatdigitalvolumeto- mography represents a significant improvement of the possibilities of imaging processes. Sometimes their significance can even be assessed as being greater than in the current domain, preimplantologi- cal diagnostics. _Volume—available volume tomographs After digital volume tomographs had been on the market for a good decade, the number of suppliers of suchdevicesincreaseddramatically—andthenumber is still increasing.
