The second business meeting took place in Hong Kong on 15 January 1990. At this meeting, it was evi- dent that the AAAD had the key to promoting aes- thetic dentistry in the Asia Pacific region and was in- creasingly attracting membership from other coun- tries. With Prof Stephen Wei (Hong Kong) as the chair- person, the following representatives were present: Dr Gerald Chow (Hong Kong), Prof Sison Renato (Philippines), Prof Joo-Loon Lui (Malaysia), Dr Ko (Korea), Dr Park (Korea), Dr Kim Choy Low (Republic of China), Prof Takao Maruyama (Japan), Dr Sum (Singapore), and Dr Tay (Singapore). Unfortunately, Dr Choung Min Lin (Republic of China), Dr Lucas Kustarjo(Indonesia),andDrMatsuo(Japan)werenot able to participate. The growth and development of the AAAD since its inception called for a comprehensive constitu- tion, which was the major item on the agenda for the second business meeting. At this meeting, con- cerns regarding the inadequacy of entire sections in the constitution were raised. Dr Ko proposed that a constitutional and by-law reviewsubcommitteebesetuptoaddressthematter. The Constitutional Review Committee consisted of Prof Wei, Dr Ko, Prof Renato, and Dr Sum. cosmeticdentistry 1_2009 TheAsianAcademy of Aesthetic Dentistry: A brief history Author_ Seok-Hoon Ko, Korea
