February 14-20, 201130 Events United Kingdom Edition T he Association of Den- tal Implantology Team Congress is taking place at the Manchester Central Con- vention Complex on the 14 & 15 April 2011. ADI President Stephen Jacobs along with Michael Norton, the ADI’s Scientific Chairman, have put together a two-day pro- gramme that should appeal to all members of the dental im- plant team. To quote Stephen: “The congress has now be- come the leading dental implant meeting in the United Kingdom and one of the foremost in Eu- rope, with the unique combina- tion of a plenary programme with internationally renowned speakers, parallel sessions for all dental care professionals, a large technical exhibition and a fantastic party.” The plenary session, for both Clinicians and Technicians, takes place over the two days, with speakers such as: Mr Michel Magne (USA) “Aesthetic dentistry today – a distinctive approach to nature”, Professor Maurício Araújo (Brazil) “Man- agement of the alveolar socket”, Dr Stephen S Wallace (USA) “Latest strategies and tech- niques for maxillary sinus aug- mentation”, Associate Profes- sor Tara Aghaloo (USA) “Bone grafts for site development – the past, the present and the future”. A combined team programme, followed by dedicated sessions for Nurses, Hygienists/Thera- pists and Practice Managers is offered on Thursday 14 April. Anita Daniels will be speaking in the morning on “The team approach to implant dentistry: a blueprint for success”. In the af- ternoon she will continue with the Hygienists/Therapists on: “The role of the dental hygienist in implant treatment”. Ashley Latter will take to the po- dium to speak to Practice Man- agers on “Ringing the changes: turn every patient enquiry into an appointment”. The dedicated Nurses pro- gramme sees ADI Nurse mem- bers take to the podium to present papers, and offers a choice of three optional inter- active workshops. Topics to be covered include: “Asepsis for dental implants: the theory & the practical”, “Effective com- munication with patients”, “Ad- vanced surgical techniques, in- struments & preparation”, “Medical emergencies in im- plant surgery”, “HTM0105 and implant dentistry” and “Sinus lifts” Congress Exhibition Open to all delegates is the con- gress exhibition.
