The Swiss-based dental manufac- turer EMS has announced to launch its Piezon V-CLASS at IDS 2011. The intelligent design of these latest- generation scaling instruments is said to be simply unique. A new conical fit allows the operator to snap the instrument onto the handpiece in just half a turn. This short screw thread faci- litates cleaning and leaves less space for harmful germs and bac- teria to proliferate, the company said. The unique fit also opti- mizes the coupling between in- strument and handpiece and re- duces the natural wear of both threads. In addition, EMS has fur- ther improved the special alloy of Swiss Instruments V-CLASS as well as the transfer of power to the instrument for optimal treatment efficiency. According to the company, the operator literary feels the optimized delivery of power as it is transmitted to the tip of the instrument.
